Our Dear Guests,

Welcome to our meeting.

It is of course impossible to deny the importance of the education in making our youth active and participant. The nurture of the youth as citizens who are aware of the value, rights and responsibilities that should exist in a democratic society, who are aware of the human rights and who posses and protects the norm and values that exists in the basis of the concepts such the human rights, the rule of law and the state of law is only possible by forming education means which contains required information and skills.

“To Be a Citizen…” teacher and student hand Manuel, which is prepared under the presidency of Prof. Dr. Ipek Gürkaynak and published by our Foundation, are prepared, apart from the traditional education methods, with an education method that encourage and teach “to be the one who argue and the one who makes the other arguing, to be more creative, to make transactional analysis, to develop and present an opinion, to be a contributor”.

We believe that you (the educators) are supporting from the heart our effort to nurture the youth who possess “The Conscious of Being a Responsible Citizen”.

In order to explain the education method and our books prepared for the educators and the students of  7th and 8th grade of the elementary schools, I invite to the platform dear Prof. Dr. Ipek Gürkaynak, who prepared this book.
