Nail Güreli has practiced journalism incessantly since 1952.  He worked in different units of journalism from being a trainee reporter to being a chief-editorship, from being an interview writer to being an editor in chief. Nail Güreli, who is still Milliyet Newspaper’s columnist and Director of Milliyet Prizes, prepares a set of articles from time to time. 

He performed a duty in different grades of the Turkish Journalists Union for almost 30 years and quit its job because he passed from being a Chairperson to being a Founding Member to SODEP (Social Democracy Party).

  Nail Güreli has been chosen to the Board Membership of Turkish Journalists Association successively three periods (6 years) since 1988 and to the Association’s Presidency in March 1994. After presiding the Turkish Journalists Association for seven years, by reason of providing change and innovation,he has left its job at own request in April 2001. 

Nail Güreli, who won nine prizes in different branches thanks to the professional organization’s competitions, has also received honor prizes by 9 nongovernmental organizations with Sertel Journalism Foundation Democracy Prize, Orhan Apaydın Foundation Democracy and Peace Prize, Rubber-Work Union’s Our Honor Board Prize, Lions International Foundation Melvin Jones Fellow Prize among them.  Nail Güreli has 16 published books, one of his last books is entitled “Şu Bizim Medya” (This Media Of Ours”) which comprises media criticisms.
