Acts defined as offense or misdemeanour by law is not condemned morally by society’s consious as it should be. The society talks about how some crimes committed so cunningly, how skillful, intelligent and cold blooded is the criminal or how the victim was naive.  The truth, seen so clearly in the question of “is whose fault is it, the killer, or the deceased?” is that the killer is cleared in the eyes of society’s consious despite the law.  In particular, the deceased is always judged in the case of honour killings and murders committed as a result of fight. The society is in a way accomplicing by not condemming many acts that are deemed as crime by law.  The law’a authority thus is stepped on.

Arm is unfortunately is accepted as a part of modern consumption culture. By allowing arm to be used commonly in the society cleared it from being disgrace and announced it as a status of power. Now, arm is demanded as a pleasure means by the society. Arm is addictive like many pleasure substance. When the level of boredom increases the intensity of emotion developed for arm increases too. It is mind blowing to see the supply’s skill to fulfill increased demand; every individual one day can become a criminal.

What happens if individual armament continues? Mass condemanation of the crime committed by arm becomes tenser. First of all, the perception that the act of crime is against the law and the society start to think that the crime committed against itself was incited by the State.

The image of criminal changes. Now, the perception that the criminal is a person who was damaged by a bad history and affected by the defects of the society changes into “armed every individual can be a criminal”. Committing crime becomes a professional act. Gangsters, vagabonds, urban bandits becomes intimidating first the society and then the State.

The individual’s effort to gurantee their right to live by armamenting starts to thearatening the other’s security. The crime becomes to be inured to and the tendency towards armament increases. The armament increases so much while the State tries to stop increasing crime; it finds the arm, which should be controlled by itself, in its face.  The courts always work on arm related cases, media all the time tells stories about arm.

As Georges Picca says, criminology was borne in the last century as a result of inadequacies of war against crime.
Umut Foundation was established in 1993 for the following purposes: to raise our youth, who are the guarantee of the future, as individuals who are take part in the development of the  country and useful to humanity  by earning them  personality ans skills to lead on the footsteps of Atatürk; make them adopt the rule of law and contribute to its implementation; to convince the youth to choose peaceful means for solving the conflicts by setting off from the saying of our leader Atatürk that is “ peace in homeland, peace in the world”; in this context, to teach individuals and make them adopt the skills of compromising and maintaining and developing peace. Our works have always been based on science and concepts. Stting off from this point our trustee, dear friend Mustafa Tören Yücel’s book called Criminology was very important for us and it was unavoidable to gain such a resource to the society.

I wish that it will benefit all people who work on the subject and the society...
